Printer Leasing

Leasing or RentingĀ a printer is a financial solution used by the majority of businesses in the UK to aid their cashflow.

Leasing or Renting

MFD printers are expensive to buy and the capital cost of an outright purchase can be prohibitive and a barrier to acquiring a product that is needed by your company to function effectively and efficiently. A lease or a rental agreement is often the answer and will result in the latest equipment for an affordable monthly payment.

Most printer leasing agreements are over a 5 year period. However, we can discuss alternative contract terms from 2 – 6 years depending upon your individual company needs and circumstances.

As your business evolves and changes over the period of your lease, you can consider adding new machines, new software and new technology to your lease agreement, so that you always have the latest equipment to enable your business to flourish.

Service Contracts

Running alongside your lease or rental agreement, would be a service contract, which would cover your technology for service, breakdown, inks, toners, parts etc.

Both the lease agreement (for the capital cost of the machine) and the service contract (for all running costs of the machine – apart from the paper!) can be rolled into one fixed monthly / quarterly payment so that you can budget and know exactly what your ongoing print costs will be. Our agreements are transparent with no onerous hidden extras. We pride ourselves on long term relationships with our customers which can only be achieved with fair and honest agreements.

Benefits of Printer Leasing with Service Contract

  • Keeps equipment fresh – replace old technology for new technology at the end of each lease term.
  • Preserves working capital – leasing avoids the potentially large initial outlay of an equipment purchase, leaving money free other parts of the business.
  • Creates a fixed cost – Leasing creates a fixed tax-deductible cost that avoids the need for complex depreciation schedules.
  • An equipment & consumables bundle – rolling a lease and service into one monthly / quarterly fixed cost makes it easier to budget, rather than having to buy inks and toners each time you run out.

Printer Leasing Q&As

All sectors of the UK economy take advantage of printer leasing. It is hugely popular for small and medium sized businesses that need a robust, versatile machine for all of their printing and scanning needs, as well as large, multi-site organisations needing to keep a tight control on their finances and wanting the benefits gained from the tax efficiency and upgrade opportunities afforded by a lease agreement over an outright purchase.

In the same way as leasing a car, there is a contract between the finance company and the business, giving the business the use of the machine or machines over a fixed period. Additional extras can be added to the machine, by way of software and finishers (booklet makers, staplers etc) and added to the lease agreement and therefore paid for over the juration of the lease agreement.

Cashflow is vital to any business. Buying equipment outright ties up a chunk of capital in a depreciating asset. Leasing on the other hand allows cash to be used for other purposes within the business. The fact that many of our existing clients are accountancy practices is testament to the fact that leasing over purchasing is a sensible business decision.

Of course. Leasing enables a company to make changes to the machines contained within their agreement, or add further machines or software to their agreement either during, or at the end of the rental period. This is often done as a business grows and their actual needs change.

The title to the machines remains with the finance provider, which means that the equipment doesn’t show on your company balance sheet and therefore aren’t applicable to the expected depreciation over a fixed period. It therefore enables your business to get the latest technology and equipment towards the end of your lease contract.
